Max Savy (1918-2010) was born on April 11, 1918, in Albi, Max Savy and first made his mark on Aude painting through his teaching skills. A schoolteacher and drawing professor at the École Normale, generations of Carcassonne residents first knew him as a teacher before he achieved international renown, particularly in the United States. Savy's work was focused mainly on the Minervois and the Corbières audoises, where he spent most of his life.
